Terms of Service

Welcome to Seshion, operated by Lukas van Uden ("Seshion", "we", "us", or "our"). By using our macOS application ("App") or website at seshion.app ("Website"), you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the Seshion App, or by accessing our Website, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Notice. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.
2. Description of Service
Seshion is a time tracking application for macOS designed for freelancers, developers, designers, and independent professionals. The App allows you to:
- Track time spent on projects and tasks
- Organize work with projects, tags, and notes
- Generate statistics and reports
- Export data in multiple formats (CSV, XLSX, PDF)
- Sync data across devices via iCloud (optional)
- Export time entries to Notion (optional)
- Use Pomodoro timer functionality
The Website provides information about Seshion, allows you to join our waitlist, and serves as a portal for support and documentation.
3. Account & Subscription
Free Trial
Seshion offers a 7-day free trial with full access to all features. No credit card is required to start the trial. You can use all Pro features during this period to evaluate the App.
Paid Subscription
After the trial period, a paid subscription is required to continue using the App. Subscription plans are available on a monthly (€3.50/month) or yearly (€35/year) basis. Current prices are always listed on our Website and within the App.
Payment Processing
All payments are processed by Paddle (Paddle.com Market Limited), our Merchant of Record. Paddle handles all aspects of payment processing, including:
- Credit/debit card and PayPal payments
- Subscription management and renewals
- Invoicing and receipts
- Tax calculation and compliance (VAT, sales tax)
- Refund processing
By subscribing, you agree to Paddle's Terms of Use and authorize recurring charges until you cancel. Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date.
4. User Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Provide accurate information when creating an account or making a purchase
- Keep your account credentials and license key secure
- Use the App and Website only for lawful purposes
- Not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, modify, or distribute the App
- Not circumvent any licensing or access restrictions
- Not use the App to infringe on the rights of others
- Not share your subscription with others (one license per user)
5. Intellectual Property
Seshion, including the App, Website, and all its contents, features, and functionality, are owned by us and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works based on our intellectual property.
Your data remains your property. We claim no ownership over the time entries, projects, tasks, or other content you create within the App.
6. Data & Privacy
Your use of our services is also governed by our Privacy Notice, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.
Key points:
- Your time tracking data is stored locally on your device
- We do not have access to your tracked time, projects, or tasks
- iCloud sync is optional and managed by Apple
- We use analytics to improve our product (you can opt out)
7. Third-Party Services
The App and Website integrate with third-party services. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms:
- Paddle — Payment processing (Terms)
- Apple iCloud — Data synchronization (Terms)
- Notion — Time entry export (Terms)
- PostHog — Analytics (Terms)
We are not responsible for the practices, content, or availability of third-party services.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App and Website are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
We do not guarantee that our services will be error-free, uninterrupted, secure, or meet your specific requirements. Use of our services is at your own risk.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:
- Loss of profits, revenue, or business opportunities
- Loss of data or data corruption
- Loss of goodwill or reputation
- Costs of substitute services
Our total liability for any claims arising from your use of our services shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
10. Cancellation & Refunds
You may cancel your subscription at any time through the App or by contacting Paddle directly. Upon cancellation:
- You will retain access until the end of your current billing period
- You will not be charged for the next billing period
- Your local data remains on your device

11. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to our services if you:
- Violate these Terms of Service
- Engage in fraudulent or illegal activities
- Abuse our services or support systems
- Attempt to circumvent licensing restrictions
Upon termination, your right to use the App will cease immediately, but your local data will remain on your device.
12. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by:
- Posting the updated terms on our Website
- Updating the "Last updated" date
- Sending an email notification for material changes (if you're a subscriber)
Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
13. Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Germany, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of our services shall be resolved in the courts of Germany. However, this does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer in your country of residence.
14. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
